Colleges
You have to stay in education until aged 18. This can be at a college or via an apprenticeship (which can be provided via a
College). It is worthwhile having a look at a variety of colleges, to make sure you know what the options are.
It is also important to apply to more than one Further Education Provider (so you have a back-up plan, no matter what the
GCSE results or in case you change your mind).
Year 10: Start to look / visit colleges now (see open events). There will be assemblies for Year 10 from the colleges.
Year 11: Start / revisit colleges now (see open events). We also have the colleges visiting the school to chat with Year 11.
Year 11 will be guided through the application process in school, during tutor / PSHE time, and supported by our Careers Lead and EBP Careers Advisor. Tutors and Head of Year/pastoral support can also help.

CV Writing
To apply for most jobs, you are going to need a CV (curriculum vitae). The website below will help to write a CV. This is something you need for a job or college application and is something you update and send off to any company when you are applying for a job.
Please watch the video on CV writing – ‘Your CV part 1’ that is a little way down the page on the link below.
This will give you some ideas of what you are going to write in your CV.
Please now fill in the writing frames from the link below that will help you to write a CV.
It is very important that you save the file at regular intervals while you are working on it. You don’t want to lose all your hard work.
In your PSHE lessons in year 11 you will use the work you have completed to write your college, job and apprenticeship applications. Please keep this safe.
